ROCHELLE LAWANDALES (Zumba) has a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from Clemson University - GO TIGERS!  She worked for several local governments from 1979-1989 and started Lawandales Planning Affiliates (LPA) in 1989.  Her private practice reached communities throughout the state and elsewhere until 2010.  On the Board of Directors for numerous local charitable organizations and governmental boards over the years, she currently volunteers as a member of the Brevard County Planning and Zoning Board, and on 211 of Brevard.  Rochelle currently works part time for a local development company and is a private consultant.  In 2018, Rochelle received the highest honor of being inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Certified Planners.  Once an "exercise-hater!” she found and fell in love with Zumba® in 2011, a dance fitness program which is truly ‘exercise in disguise’.  After becoming licensed in 2012, she is grateful for a wonderful group of patrons, many of whom have become dear friends.  Ro also became licensed in Zumba Gold ® and Zumba Toning®, two specialty programs that better meets the needs of her patrons through high energy, but low impact movements, and to focus on core and muscular development for strength and balance in the aging process.  "If you haven’t tried it, you might like it.  If you stopped, come back and feel the ‘happy hour!' With fond & forever gratitude to Larry and Joyce Boudrie for inviting me to spread a little joy, a little sweat, and a little bounce for our minds, bodies, and souls, I am blessed to be starting my 5th year with the Shepherd Center! Many thanks to Tony for your terrific abilities and efforts in continuing this great program, and having me continue to spread a little Zumba Gold ® love."
