LESLIE (WUEST) JOHANSEN (C.S. LEWIS and THE CHRONICLES of NARNIA) was born in the Bronx but moved to begin her schooling in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. She returned to the Bronx for the last two years of high schood attending St. Raymond Academy in its first graduating class of 1964. She attended the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY, earning a Bachelor's of Arts in English. She began teaching high school English in 1969. In 1985 she earned a Master's of Science degree from Lehman College (CUNY) with a MS degree in Education. Leslie returned to where she started as she taught high school English in the Bronx and Manhattan for over 30 years and running a small school for developmentally disabled pre-schoolers in Brooklyn. In 1989 she moved to Indian Harbour Beach and working at Easter Seals as the Director of Child Development. She also taught English at Melbourne Central Catholic Hight School until her retirement. Leslie has been volunteering with the Shepherd Center ever since! Once a teacher, always a teacher.
